Intronik STF: SM / 2S / S (Signals Addition) Mode

    Air test.
    15" DD STF (1,7 kHz + 14 kHz) coil.
    D Mode / S (2S - signals addition ) Mode.
    Gain on 16 (of 27 possible).
    GC (Ground Compensation) is done over ferrite.

    Targets:
    1/4 of 1 kopeck USSR -> 1/2 of 1 kopeck USSR -> 1 kopeck USSR -> 5 kopecks USSR -> 5 kopecks Ekaterina 2 (the largest coin on photo) -> gold nugget 1 gram:

    1 kopeck USSR produces the signal equal to average Russian hammy signal.
    5 kopecks Ekaterina 2 is a large copper coin.

    Subject air test was done in order to compare 2 different modes: D Mode and 2S Mode.
    I set Gain on 16 that is almost a half of INK's power output. if I had set gain on 27 results would have been beyond of imagination.

    Scale of Gain is designed the way detection distance is increased by 1,12 with every 4 units of Gain added.
    In other words with Gain set on 27 all results (on the photo) should be multiplied by approximately 1,4 (1,12*1,12 *1,12 = 1,4). I guess the maximum distance of detection of 5 kopecks Ekaterina 2 is about 90 cms that will be difficult to achieve in real ground conditions, but such kind of power could be used in future perspective upgrades .

    There is a disadvantage of 2S mode that should be mentioned: ground signal theoretically modulates sensitivity and there could be no confidence in obtained results in hash conditions (SuchMuch Remark: this means false signals in case of bad grounds (salty/mineralized) and better (than D Mode) results on light grounds). This 2S mode will be of no use in case of Sochi grounds... :( (SuchMuch Remark: grounds in Sochi are considered to be salty (conductive) and mineralized at the same time).

    To sum all up S (2S) Mode is a good mode in case of good grounds (SuchMuch Remark: read light grounds).
    2S shows great results on semi loams.

    SuchMuch Remark:
    By fact 2S mode could be compared to Minelab Equinox, but with depth on high conductors added. S Mode is deeper on low and high conductors at the same time and it produces the same depth on mid conductors if we compare it with D Mode.

    Here you are test results with D and S modes for high frequency STF DD coil 9,5"x12,5"@3 kHz +30 kHz.

    Settings:
    • Gain on 22 (60% of maximum Gain)
    • Rate on
    • EMI Filter on 14
    • Silencer on 2
    • GC (Ground Compensation) is done over ferrite.

    It's obvious that advantage of S mode over D mode is not so radical on low conductors as it is case of 1,7 kHz + 14 kHz of the same coil size. However, it is obvious that S mode produces the best results on large copper.
