Garrett are bringing out a wireless set with no lag time what so ever and a battery life of some 20 hours or more.
Its being released in a few months, looks very similar to the Detecnicks one but with a longer run time.
Could well be a good thing for us AKA users.
Its on YouTube on the Garrett site.

Regards to the Makro, I know so many that have gone wrong and vibrate for nothing, that you probably need a back up for the Makro lol.

There are reports Z-Lynk causes EMI issues if economy mode is activated.

I have used Z-link on MFT for around 3 months and had no problems at all with emi issues.Works very well. Also use it on my gp 3500 minelab (sorry for using that word), it is modified pretty heavily, so not true minelab, with no problems. Have the detectnix one as well and it has no where near the quality or options as z link
